Our Staff

We love kids and we love this place. Most of our staff have been raised at Camp Huron, some attending themselves since they were six years old. Staff unanimously want to give their young charges the same fun, life-changing experience they were given.

Our staff are chosen for their experience, qualifications, sensitivity and commitment to making each camper’s stay a memorable one. They begin the season with a week of intensive training, and are supervised by a senior leadership team with experience and education in such fields as outdoor recreation, theology, social work and child-care.

Our Leader in Training Program (LIT) offers teens an opportunity to become leaders with an emphasis on service. The program gives Camp Huron a wonderful pool of young people from which to choose counsellors. The community is enriched by active, knowledgeable and faithful young leaders!

While we do not guarantee our LIT grads a job we have learned that in raising our own we are able to hire an excellent group of young staff members for the two-month summer season who go on to become leaders year-round in their schools, communities, churches and beyond!

Interested in joining our Camp Huron Team?

(all candidates must be turning 17 in the year to which they are applying and have demonstrated experience working with children – hiring is contingent upon the submission of an application, interview, further screening and the acquisition of a police check as well as pre-camp online training)

Applications for 2024 are still open and we are looking for a Kitchen Assistant, Lifeguard and Counsellors who can live and work with boys’ cabins.
